Working to end food insecurity at KU

The following items pack the most nutrition and are most needed in the Campus Cupboard and other community food pantries:

  • Canned Vegetables (< 230 mg sodium) 
  • Canned Fruit (light or no syrup)
  • Canned Meats (< 480 mg sodium), including Tuna and Chicken
  • Canned Soup with Vegetables (< 230 mg sodium)
  • Cereal (hot or cold)
  • Nuts, Seeds, Nut Butters
  • Whole Wheat Bread, Tortillas, Pasta, Brown Rice
  • Gluten-free pasta, crackers, breads
  • Granola bars

‚ÄčIn addition to these items, the Campus Cupboard is in need of the following (please do not donate perishable items or utensils at Food Drive collection points):

  • Fresh Vegetables
  • Milk and Milk alternatives
  • Yogurt, Cheese
  • Fresh produce
  • Cooking oil
  • Spices and food seasonings
  • Small kitchen utensils - can opener, paring knife, small pots and pans
  • Soap, Deodorant, Shampoo, Menstrual Products
  • Toilet Paper

The Campus Cupboard has a refrigerator and a freezer.
